Assalam Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatahu

Replying to “Jazakallahu khayran”

Thank Those Who Do You Favors

The Prophet
(salAllahu Alayhi wasalam) said:

"Whoever is treated well, let him repay them. If he cannot find repayment, let him praise them for that is thanking them. If he conceals it, he was being ungrateful to them. Whoever adorns himself with what he has not been given, it is as if he wears a garment of lies."

Saying ‘Shukran’ vs. ‘JazakAllahu Khayran’

Question:

What is the Hukum (ruling) of the statement ‘Shukran’ said to the one who does a favor (or the like) for someone?

Answer:

Whoever does that has left off something more excellent (or bountiful), and that is, the statement “
JazaakAllaahu Khayran” (may Allah reward you)!

And with Allaah is the Tawfeeq!

Reward for Saying 'JazaakAllahu Khayran'

Umar ibn al-Khattab
(radhiallahu anhu) said:

"If one of you knew the reward he has in saying to this brother, "
JazaakAllaahu Khayran" (may Allah reward you with good), you would say it much to one another."

Recorded in Al-Musnaf ibn Abee Shaybah no.26519

Replying to “Jazakallahu khayran”

Usayd ibn Hadayr said to the Prophet
(salallahu alayhi wasalam):

O Messenger of Allah 'JazakAllahu Khayran' (May Allah reward you with good).

The Prophet (salallahu alayhi wasalam) replied:

Wa Antum FaJaza kumullahu Khayran. (And you too, May Allah reward you with good).
